🔹 Introduction

Fasting is one of the most beautiful interventions you can make for your body — especially when you are in your 30s, 40s, or beyond. By the time we cross our late 30s, stress, toxins, and lifestyle diseases start weighing us down. Fasting is nature’s most powerful reset button


🔹 What is Fasting?

A true fast is not about dieting or cutting calories. It’s when you shut down your digestive system completely and let the body shift from digestion to healing and repair.

  • After a meal, it takes about 4 hours to digest food.

  • Around 8 hours, nutrients are absorbed, and the intestines are cleared.

  • If you don’t eat after this point, the body enters restoration mode — repairing and cleansing at the cellular level


🔹 The Science of Deep Cleaning (Autophagy)

  • After 12–15 hours, the strong cells in your body start attacking and recycling weaker, damaged cells.

  • By 16 hours, autophagy — the body’s natural deep-cleaning mechanism — is in full force.

  • Between 16–36 hours, the body does its most powerful repair work, renewing itself from the inside out.

This is why short intermittent fasting windows of 12–14 hours may give you a head start but often stop just short of where the real transformation begins


🔹 My Own Practice

Here’s my weekly fasting routine:

  • Monday evening, 8:00–8:30 PM → Finish dinner.

  • Tuesday → No food at all. I keep myself hydrated with:

    • Plain water

    • Black coffee (zero calorie, no sugar)

    • Lemon water/soda (without sugar or salt)

  • Wednesday morning → Break the fast gently with haldi pani (turmeric water) and bed tea

This gives me a 32–33 hour fast every week


🔹 The Challenges

Fasting is not always easy. You may feel:

  • Headaches

  • Drowsiness

  • Weakness or cramps

But these are not signs of harm — they are signs of healing. Your body is flushing toxins, switching its fuel system, and doing deep cleaning.

The solution? Hydrate. Drink plenty of water, and most of these symptoms pass.


🔹 What Happens Inside

Once glycogen (stored sugar) is used up in the first 8–10 hours, the body starts burning stored fat. This is the purest and most efficient energy source for the human body


🔹 The Miracles of Fasting

The miracles of fasting are truly unimaginable. During a 36-hour long fast, the body’s repair and cleaning mechanisms switch on at full force.

  • Even early-stage cancerous or precancerous cells get targeted and eliminated.

  • Hidden toxins and damaged cells are cleaned out.

  • Lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid imbalances begin to reverse.

  • It even restores and improves your metabolism, which naturally slows after 40
