Two Shocks That Changed My Life Forever
Some moments pass quietly. Others hit you like lightning and change your life forever. For me, there were two.
Shock 1 – The Rain in the Park
My son was just one year old. We were playing in the park when the sky suddenly opened and it began to pour. I scooped him up in my arms and ran for cover — barely 50 metres.
By the time we reached shelter, I was huffing and puffing, my heart pounding. I looked at him, and he looked back at me.
That moment shook me to my core.
Hundreds of thoughts raced through my mind:
What if something happens to me?
I had hardly enough savings to see my wife and son through.
Who would take him out, show him the world, plan those vacations?
Who would tell him it’s okay to fall, get hurt, and still get up smiling?
Who would teach him to ride a cycle?
Who would push him to be his best and face the world?
It was a flood of fears I couldn’t ignore.
Shock 2 – The Heart Blockage
A preventive health check-up revealed a 95% blockage in a major artery. The doctors told me I was lucky — if it hadn’t been caught in time, I might have become one of those tragic stories we hear so often today: a sudden cardiac arrest in the late 30s or early 40s, leaving a family in shock and grief.
I realised I was living on borrowed time. And if I didn’t change now, I might not have a second chance.
The Transformation
I started my journey at 84 kilos, sitting on a ticking time bomb. Today, I’m 58 kilos, in a state of great health, fitness, and well-being.
I play badminton 3–4 times a week. I can run almost as fast as my 12-year-old son. And I still enjoy every kind of food under the sun — because I’ve built a lifestyle where my body can handle it.
Why I Share This
I want others to experience the same comfort in their own body — the joy of moving freely, eating without fear, and living without the constant shadow of lifestyle diseases like cardiac issues or diabetes.
I want to help eliminate the risk of sudden, early death — the kind that leaves families in the lurch, children without parents, and dreams unfinished.
Because your health isn’t just about you — it’s about every person who depends on you, loves you, and looks up to you.
