Weight – When It Works For You, and When It Works Against You
Whether it’s your position in society or your body weight — both matters. But they matter for very different reasons.
When it comes to position, the more connected and resourceful you are, the easier it is to navigate this challenging terrain we call the world. The right connections open doors, smoothen paths, and help you move ahead with ease.
Body weight, however, plays by a completely different set of rules. Here, more is often not better. In fact, excess weight can become one of the greatest threats to our health and existence.
The Hidden Cost of Extra Kilos
Carrying too much weight isn’t just about moving slowly — it’s about moving unswiftly (yes, the word exists, and it says a lot). The toll is both physical and emotional:
Mobility Issues – Difficulty moving with ease, reduced agility, and a constant feeling of being held back.
Aches and Pains – Knees, joints, and back bear the brunt of the load, leading to chronic discomfort.
Heart Health Risks – High blood pressure, arterial blockages, and increased risk of cardiac events.
Metabolic Disorders – Diabetes, insulin resistance, and related complications.
Hormonal Imbalances – Thyroid dysfunction and other endocrine issues.
Lifestyle Diseases – A long list, from fatty liver to sleep apnea, often traced back to excess weight.
Self-Image Struggles – Low confidence, diminished self-worth, and the mental burden of not feeling your best.
The Golden Perspective
While social position can help you navigate the outside world, body weight affects how you navigate your own life — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Losing excess weight isn’t about vanity; it’s about freedom. Freedom to move, to live without constant aches, to keep disease at bay, and to carry yourself with confidence.
Because the truth is, when your body supports you instead of holding you back, every other journey becomes easier.
